His Majesty the King

Last night POTUS told us what we already know. Were you paying attention to his words and actions all these years?

(The only thing he managed to have straight last night was his flag pin...)

The great Uniter-In-Chief continuing to do what he does best: divide and then multiply his bullshit agenda.

Oh sure… blame Republicans… blah blah blah

POTUS using his pen to shove rule of law down our throats.

Apparently he thinks the country wants to play Let’s Make a Deal. What a joke!

Did you hear him lecturing the United States of America on how to be accountable? I laughed my ass off!

He waited all these years until this exact moment in time to show the world how powerful he is.

(Oh, and I’m not impressed by those violin stories. I’m pretty sure his speech writers are tired of him too.)

POTUS calls his executive order a debate. What a pathetic loser!

Let’s reward everyone for breaking the law. Woohoo!

Did you hear the college part of his speech? How about helping Americans get their degrees? What a LIAR!

Then he said that trigger phrase: SHARED COMMITMENT – Gee whiz, Obama! I didn’t realize we were sharing anything but your LIES.

Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie – LIAR IN CHIEF!

Let’s give jobs to criminals. Yay!!! Yippeee!!! Weee!!!

This POTUS is unreal. He needs a reality check.

Our Troops Singing "Days of Elijah"

Behold He comes, riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun, at the trumpet's call
Lift your voice, the year of Jubilee
Out of Zion's hill, salvation comes

I love this! I love our troops!

The first time I saw this video on facebook I almost cried.

It’s moving! The Spirit is moving in spite of the evil in this world. There is music, movement, singing, and shouting – all for God! Amen!!!

What has happened to this country?

It’s amazing all the people out there who believe a police officer (red, yellow, black or white) doesn’t have the right to protect him or herself from harm. People keep saying “unarmed black teenager” well—last time I checked you can still kill someone even if you’re unarmed.

It’s pretty ballsy of anyone, I don’t care how old or who you are, to come after a cop no matter the size of the chip on your shoulder. I don’t care what kind of mood the cop is in. If a police officer is adamant about something usually citizens cooperate. You don’t talk back to the police officer and you don’t go after them and try to take their weapon away from them.

Here we are all these days later and some “facts” are slipping out and we still don’t have the whole story but all of Ferguson and the surrounding towns are in an uproar—for what? It’s a sad situation all around in many cities across the world. People behaving poorly, passing judgment, and making ASSumptions as to what happened when they weren’t there and not having the fortitude or the patience to wait and see what happens—it’s ridiculous!

Meanwhile, kids are not in school.

Every night there is violence in the streets. Racism—oh it still exists but it’s not your racism of the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. It’s a different kind of racism and it has nothing to do with character or integrity or what makes a human being.

What really gets me is that as a “white” someone I’m automatically dismissed. I couldn’t possibly know what I’m talking about. The ends justify the means.

I’ve been thinking about that police officer, wondering what his story is, where he’s hiding, and whether or not anyone is going to listen to what he has to say. When someone is guilty usually, hopefully, we can anticipate the truth but as a society we are so warped we’ve lost sight of the truth and have bought the lie.

And where are all these thugs during the day? They wrap their faces with scarves to try and hide their identity. That’s the mantra of a coward.

Oh, and militarizing our local law enforcement. That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. If the local citizens are out of control damaging property and hurting people and local law enforcement is not allowed to serve or protect the people. what are they supposed to do? Sit around and twiddle their thumbs? State and Federal make up this nation and when one fails the other is supposed to take up the slack. It’s called backing up the people!

What has happened to this country?

Israel-Palestine: Lost In Translation

The following is a snippet I pulled out of an article circulating in Greece as well as other countries due to social networking connections. Read through the snippets, I will share a few remarks along with the link to the complete article.

THIS:

TRANSLATES to THIS:

At first glance, might not seem to be the most direct way to stop the killing, but history has shown us that when the economic costs of the occupation grows, it opens the road to peace. Click to ask six major banks, pension funds and corporations to withdraw their investments APTA occupied. If each and everyone of us involved in the appeal now, we can create a truly global outcry that would cause them to withdraw their investment - the economy of Israel shaken so would subvert that political benefits from such a sought through controversy. Within five weeks, three Israeli teenagers were murdered in the West Bank, a Palestinian boy aptin burnt alive, a child brutally beaten American citizenship AP'TIN Israeli police and more than 40 children have been killed in Gaza by Israeli air strikes. There is no longer a Palestinian - this is a war against innocent children and the world has started to develop immunity to the images global shame.

The ENGLISH VERSION from the ORIGINAL Website:

This may not feel like a direct way to stop the current killing, but history tells us that raising the financial cost of oppression can pave a path to peace. Sign the petition on the right and call on 6 key banks, pension funds and businesses to pull out -- If we all take smart action now and turn up the heat, they could withdraw, the Israeli economy will take a hit, and we can turn the calculation of the extremists politically profiting from this hell upside down.

In the last five weeks three Israeli teenagers were murdered in the West Bank, a Palestinian boy was burnt alive, an American kid was brutally beaten up by Israeli police, and now over 40 Gazan kids have died in Israeli air strikes. This is not the "Middle East conflict", it's becoming a war on children. And we are becoming numb to this global shame.

H/T: Ισραήλ-Παλαιστίνη: Έτσι θα τελειώσει

Last time I checked Israel is not “the occupation” in Gaza! I guess anti-Semitism is at an all time high in Greece as well as other countries. Greeks forgot about the Greek Jews who were murdered by Hitler. They look at what is happening in Gaza and they blame Israel. Well, what about Hamas!? Is Israel supposed to sit back and take it? No, I don’t think so.

The most disturbing thing about this article are the translations! If you take the Greek and plug it into Google Translate the English is very different from the English Article that is offered on the same site.

They have the nerve to say “history tells us” – really? What does history tell us? Is it your version of history? Is it history omitting facts over time or is it propaganda?

Why should Israel “take a hit” economically when they are already taking rockets from Hamas?

H/T: Israel-Palestine: This is how it ends

If you read through the English version it’s pretty horrifying how they’ve painted Israel. Can you even for a single second believe that they acknowledge Hamas as a body of people who are already under “crippling sanctions?”

Israel is the size of New Jersey and they are surrounded by people whose goal is to wipe them off the planet. Have you ever read the charter of Hamas? Don’t read the Greek version! Read it from the Yale website and then translate it to the Greek language.

I don’t know if this AVAAZ.org is a Greek website. I do know there are many translations at the top of the page that have gone wrong.

Israel is not the occupation in Gaza. It is Hamas that is the occupation in Gaza. Instead of boycotting Israel and getting in bed with Hamas, the nations should be getting together to help Israel stop Hamas from terrorizing the innocent civilians on both sides.

Questioning Authority: People Who Blindly Obey

Once again—trust your own instincts and anxieties, especially those concerning people who claim that dominating others, violence, war, or some other violation of your conscience is the grand solution to some problem. Do this even when, or especially when, everyone around you has completely stopped questioning authority. Recite to yourself what Stanley Milgram taught us about obedience: At least six out of ten people will blindly obey to the bitter end an official-looking authority in their midst. ~Martha Stout

Conversation with an ASSHOLE!

ME: You can't force a Christ follower to help you murder your baby.

BOB: A Christ follower. How many adopted children do you have Christ follower?

ME: --->> Foster Mom raises her hand and waves at Bob <<---

BOB: Foster does not count!

ME: Pfft!

ME: Humor me, Bob. Tell me why fostering kids with the option to adopt doesn't count. What kind of kid will work to match your sensibilities?

BOB: Adopt, buy a car, pay for college, keep the child until the day he dies as yours claim him. Getting paid by the state to take care of kids for short periods of time is hell for the kids and very NOT Christian. You are as bad as Islam. Like the Taliban you would have all believe in your religion to their detriment. You would have all follow your rules. FOSTER WITH AN OPTION TO ADOPT!! YOU ARE NOT RENTING A HOUSE YOU MORON. Keep your kind of GOD and Christian religion to yourself. I do not believe you, I think you lie, and are NOT a Christian. It's time to tax the church.

ME: We don't foster for the money and yes we would adopt every child that comes into our home if we could. Unfortunately our Government doesn't work that way. It's pretty clear from the vile you spew that you don't understand how the foster care system works. We will love every child that comes to our family and they will all know they are loved and that someone cares. We also try to love their biological families whenever possible. It's complex, too sophisticated for you to understand. Especially while you are busy making yourself look like an ASSHOLE. Have a GREAT day, BOB.

My Thoughts on the Hobby Lobby decision and Religious Liberty

Back to Hobby Lobby—A Christ Follower doesn’t stop following Christ when they open up a business. Hobby Lobby still provides birth control minus the 4 methods that go against the conscience of the owner of that business. Also, just because our Government can steal or confiscate the money we earn doesn’t mean we have to agree to funding the death of pre-born human beings. Religious Liberty is protected by the Constitution of the United States of America whether you sit in your car, house, plane, or train. Without life there is no such thing as the pursuit of happiness. How can you pursue anything if you are dead? You can’t!

Libertarian Response #HobbyLobby

In response to yesterday's Hobby Lobby ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court, Libertarian Party Executive Director Wes Benedict made the following statement:

It's strange that liberals and conservatives are making this ruling out to be a huge deal. All the ruling does is remove a very narrow coverage requirement, in very specific cases; 99.9 percent of Obamacare is upheld.

It's true that closely held corporate entities should not be forced to pay for this particular contraceptive coverage. But focusing on that narrow issue misses the bigger point: No employer should be forced to provide any health coverage at all.

This ruling just draws the line between freedom and regulation arbitrarily. If these employers are free to ignore this particular mandate, why aren't other employers free to ignore other Obamacare regulations? They should be.

Obamacare is unjust and unconstitutional from top to bottom. No employer should be forced to provide health coverage to its employees, or penalized by government if it doesn't.

Religion is not the issue. The fact that these employers have religious motives doesn't matter. Employers have the right to associate freely with their employees, and to come up with any mutually agreeable employment terms, whether their motives are religious, secular, generous, greedy, or whatever.

This ruling is a tiny island in a huge sea of Supreme Court rulings that have supported the federal government's desire to regulate and control.

Libertarian Party Chair Nicholas Sarwark said, "Cutting the government requirement that birth control be purchased only with a prescription and making it over-the-counter would advance liberty by giving easier access to birth control for people who want it without putting their employer in the middle of their personal choices. Government doesn't make men get prescriptions for condoms, there's no reason it should make women get prescriptions for birth control pills."

The Libertarian Party platform contains the following health care plank: "We favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system. We recognize the freedom of individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want (if any), the level of health care they want, the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of their medical care, including end-of-life decisions. People should be free to purchase health insurance across state lines."

Yes I Can! No You Can't! #HobbyLobby

Amen! Hallelujah! Praise be to God! Hobby Lobby secured the right for all Americans to be a Christian even at work! Remember that Hobby Lobby does not discriminate or influence what its employees do; it wants nothing to do with employees' reproductive decisions. Employees want to be on birth control pills, fine. They want to kill their babies, fine. But Hobby Lobby doesn't have to fund it. That's all Hobby Lobby ever asked for, that's all the court granted, and that's 100% protected by the Bill of Rights. –JV

Jesus was a Liberal? No, he was not!

Has anyone ever told you that Jesus was a liberal? I’ve had people tell me that before. That usually ends the discussion for me because they’ve inadvertently admitted they don’t really read or comprehend God’s Holy Word.

Your Help Gives Hope!

My daughter and I are walking to help raise money for mental illnesses as we know families who have been personally affected. It would mean the world to me if you could donate a little something to this important cause. You can click the link to make a donation. Please share this post to help spread the word. I'm tired of the negative stigma associated with mental illness

I’m tired of the negative stigma associated with mental illness. The stigma is so bad that people are afraid to take the much needed medications that can help make all the difference. People are afraid to admit there’s a problem or they are uncomfortable seeking treatment/therapy because of what it will do their reputation. It’s frustrating to me that a person can have a heart condition, thyroid problem, or diabetes but when it comes to the brain getting sick we as a society look the other way. In the civilian world the stigma associated with mental illness is pretty big. In the military it’s even bigger. You don’t want to get me started on the negative stigma associated with mental illness in the church. That’s a whole other ball of wax I don’t have time for! Mental health care is at the bottom of the barrel in this country and it ought not be this way.

Religious Freedom In America

You say you want tolerance and despise hate, but if I don't agree with everything you say, you call it intolerance and hate. Explain to me again just how that works.

A photographer doesn’t have to photograph a same-sex ceremony if the ceremony violates the photographer’s religious beliefs. If same-sex couples want to hire a wedding photographer then they need to work on finding one that will agree to take on the job.

The government can’t force a photographer to accept jobs they don’t want to do. Photographers don’t have to take pictures of your same-sex ceremony if they choose not to. Photographers can turn you away at any time for any reason. If you don’t like that then find a different photographer.

Can you imagine being fined $7,000 because you don’t want to take pictures of a same-sex ceremony? Where is the tolerance for the photographer who has the right to run his business as he sees fit?

Is it now the Government’s job to dictate to every single photographer in the nation the type of ceremonies they will or won’t do? Do all photographers take wedding photographs? If they don’t, can the Government compel them to?

What about bakeries? Is the Government going to tell bakeries all over the country that they must bake cakes for same-sex ceremonies even if it goes against their religious beliefs? What about bakeries that don’t bake wedding cakes?

How far will Government go towards running our lives? Can you imagine having to pay a fine because you stood firm on your religious convictions?

Why are gay people seeking out Christian business owners? Out of all the bakeries listed in the yellow pages they couldn’t think to place a few phone calls to find a business that would be able to work with them?

Marijuana Hurts the Brain Circuitry

“Adolescence is a sensitive time for brain development,” says Matthew J. Smith, a research assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences. “If a teen introduces the abuse of marijuana at that point in their life, it could have consequences for their ability to problem solve, for their memory and for critical thinking in general.”

Unfortunately, this crucial message is getting lost in the pro-legalization fervor. Use of pot among adolescents, which had declined from the late 1990s through the mid-to-late 2000s, is again on the rise, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. One likely reason: “The percentage of high-schoolers who see great risk from being regular marijuana users has dropped,” over time the agency points out.

That perception, however, is all wrong. In a study published last month, Smith and his colleagues found that teens who smoked a lot of pot had abnormal changes in their brain structures related to working memory—a predictor of weak academic performance and impaired everyday functioning—and that they did poorly on memory-related tasks.

While the study focused on heavy marijuana users—specifically, those who indulged daily for about three years—one of its most crucial findings related not to the amount of pot an adolescent smoked, but when he or she started: The earlier the drug was taken up, the worse the effects on the brain.

“Marijuana is the ideal compound to screw up everything for a kid,” says Hans Breiter, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and a senior author of the study. “If you’re an athlete, a chess player, a debater or an artist, you need working memory, and marijuana hurts the brain circuitry.”

Breiter, who himself has four children 11 to 21, adds: “The more I study marijuana, the more I wonder if we should have legislation banning the use of it for everyone under 30.”

Holy Matrimony is Out the Window

Did you watch the Grammys last night? We watched part of the Grammys. We saw Paul McCartney sing a song, some acceptance speeches, a country music performance, Metallica, and the memoriam segment.

We could care less what music celebrities were wearing and completely missed some of the other performances that were trending in our news feeds. We are happy we missed the almost-nude outfits and the scantily clad numbers.

We don’t particularly appreciate gay-marriage being shoved down our throats on a music award show but do realize this is pretty typical as well as hypocritical of Hollywood. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised or shocked by any of this behavior because that’s kind of how most celebrities operate.

I’m surprised they weren’t all on stage rolling a joint!!

Sexual orientation has absolutely nothing to do with music!!

Thank goodness we sent our kids to bed!!

I'm a fan of Timothy Cardinal Dolan

New York Governor Cuomo says "extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gay" have no place in the state of New York. Cardinal Dolan is firing back!

I'm not Catholic. But, I am a big Cardinal Dolan fan. I was hooked when I heard his closing prayers at both the Republican and Democratic convention. I was especially impressed with his composure at the Democratic convention after listening to the entire assembly Boo God.

So basically if you believe in the right-to-life, are pro-2nd amendment, and stand for a Higher Moral Law you have no place in the state of New York according to Governor Cuomo. What a disgrace!

It amazes me how people will cry out for the slaughtered and mistreated animal species but when it comes to human beings it’s a completely different ball of wax. So you’re going to fight to save the whale but it’s okay to kill a child.

Adolf Hitler confiscated weapons. Hitler’s followers blindly, willingly, and obediently gave up all of their weapons to him. In this country we have a right to bear arms. It’s not our Government’s job to limit the number of weapons a person can own. We have a right to defend ourselves. We have a right to defend our families from evil.

The thing that really irks me about all of this is the hypocrisy of people who say they are “open-minded” and “tolerant” of people who are different from them. Standing by convictions and answering to a Higher Moral Law doesn’t make anyone a hater of gay people. Christians have a right to follow Christ. Following Christ doesn’t make them hateful or bigoted.

I’m a Christ follower. As a Christian I answer to a Higher Moral Law. Marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s not my way, it’s God’s design. In this country I am free to follow Christ! You can’t force me to agree to change the definition of marriage.

Timothy Cardinal Dolan is my favorite Catholic. His prayers at our national conventions were amazing and walking straight into a den of wolves booing God totally impressed me. I’m a fan!
