The Boy Who Cried Racism

I’m sure by now most of you are familiar with the story of the boy who cried wolf. Well, that’s how I see the NAACP, and people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and anyone who wants to make everything in life about race and ethnicity. They are crying “Racism! Racism!” and I’m just not buying it any more.

When something bad happens it’s not always about race. A friend of mine has a teen son who went to work this week and was called “Zimmerman” when her son tried to correct behavior that wasn’t in compliance with the rules set forth in the workplace. Is this how we are teaching our children to behave?

Sadly, people in this country want to make EV-ERY-THING about race and personally, I’m sick of it. I will not allow anyone to project their racism onto my kids. I teach my kids there is more to a person than what color they are and they can’t always fully evaluate someone per/outer-appearances. I teach my kids to recognize people for WHO they are and how they treat others. I teach my kids about people who work hard to overcome challenges and obstacles in life. If everything is “Racism! Racism!” in your house I feel sorry for your kids.

Badass Pro-Life Feminists

I'm a Badass Pro-Life Feminist! I sure hope New Wave Feminists don't mind me borrowing their picture while I let the world know just how Badass I Am! ;)

Tonight I was lurking on my Facebook news feed when all of a sudden I came upon this little gem of an article: Pro-Choice: Why I'm Never Going Back.

"I am pro-life because of information. I was pro-choice because of lack of information."

I can relate to this because I used to be pro-choice and liberal. This is a great article. I hope you read it. It makes me think of all the people in my life who pride themselves on being truthful and kind.
