Get up on your Soapbox #1

You know it's funny. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately trying to figure out how the heck I got to be the person I am today...There were a lot of horrible things that happened to me as a kid. The summer I turned 12, we moved back to Shelburne Falls MA. I was told that 'no one owes you anything!' If you want something get a job! My first job? 12 yrs old babysitting a 3 month old! I wanted to be able to buy my own clothes for school, so I got a job. When I was 14 and 15 I worked in the Tobacco Barnes in Whately Ma. I had to pay rent and buy my own clothes. If I wanted something, I had to work for it. I have pretty much been working since then. Most of the time with TWO jobs just to survive!

So, why are there all these people saying I OWE them something???? I don't owe you anything! If you want clothes to wear, GET A DAMN JOB! If you want to eat, GET A DAMN JOB!

IF I want to give to those less fortunate than I, I will do so of my own free will; that is why I have it (FREE WILL). IF you are not able to get out of bed because of a disability, I will hold you up! I will HELP you.

IF you are capable of getting out of bed, standing and dressing yourself, feeding yourself, and have no disability that prevents it, There is no reason why YOU can't go out and look for a job! If you want something; WORK FOR IT!!!!

Just a tad bit ticked off that so many people think that others owe them and that this country has elected a President that believes totally that there should be re-distribution of wealth! You can not re-distribute Smarts or Brains! And I don't want anyone to re-distribute stupidity!

Off my soap box....for now! LOL!!!

  1. I so agree with you. My hubby and I work our butts off providing for our family. I pay my tithing and give where I can. But I should not be FORCED by government to share what little we do make. Sorry I am still a little ticket off that people seriously vote for Obama because they get a free cell phone!!!

  2. Oh me too Cyn. It's disgusting to me that there are people out there capable of working who choose not to. They suck the sponge for their entire life expecting Govt to pave the way for them. Why would they ever want to get a job when they can take advantage of all the freebies we pay for. Doesn't seem right to me.

  3. I love this post! Thanks!!! And, I might add, if you have some ABCD Syndrome and are using it as a crutch not to get a job, too bad. Everyone's got stuff they're dealing with and quit using your (not you... the generic you) condition as an excuse.
