If you have a successful business, thank the government.
If you have a successful business, thank the government. After all, they created it. Saturday in Roanoke, Virginia, President Obama gave a speech that may sum up his world view better than anything he’s ever said. He said people are wrong when they credit their success to being smart and hard-working because lots of smart, hard-working people aren’t successful. So who IS responsible for your success? Washington! Obama said, “If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” He cited the government building roads and bridges and the Internet. Yes, but who paid the tab for those government goodies? Business people’s taxes. Whenever I hear this “all things spring from government” attitude, I think of the small business owner who said, “If the government is my partner, then how come when I’m still working at midnight, I look around this place… I’m the only one here?” ~Mike Huckabee
