Political ramblings straight from the heartland
Wow. Wow. I stand at awe of this image. Are there really people in my country who advocate for this? For the death of millions of fellow human beings? Why? How could this ever be accepted as a good thing?First, I will say something about Iran. I do not like Iran, and I hate everything about their government and the cruel ways they repress their people. I do not like Islam as a religion. I think the whole world would be much better off without Iran existing in its current state. Iran supports some terrorist organizations around the world, and in general is not really contributing much to our world in their current system of affairs. The whole government is corrupt (as we can tell from the last "election"). I agree that the leaders of Iran are bad. However, even if the whole government is evil and so are a lot of its people, how could this be an acceptable solution? There is a large part of the Iranian people who do not like their government, and wish it to go. They realize that their country is bad and want to change it. It is sad that they are under a dictatorship of Khamenei and his council. Only 2/3 of the people voted for crazy Ahmadinejad in the 2009 election, and those numbers are suspected of fraud. Clearly not everyone in Iran wants their country to go down the path of evil and destruction. So would it be okay to kill the dissenters who want change too? I think the best solution to the Iranian "problem" would be diplomacy and maybe hopefully helping the people transition into a democratic state. I don't know that this is possible, but annihilation of a whole country should never be an option. We didn't even do that to Germany or Japan after their crimes in WWII. I want Iran to change, and this is not the way.I know there are Iranians who want America and/or Israel wiped off the map. They would support this image in reverse. They are wrong too. However, can't we as a country show that we are better and more civilized than they?Another way to look at this image is that obviously it is impossible, and also whoever made it was a moron. Ground zero isn't even centered on Iran's location. Even if it is an exaggeration, the person who made it shows it destroying many other countries, including many "allies" such as Jordan, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia (I don't like them either) and even parts of Israel. So ironic considering this current Iran flap is over Israel's and our objection to having a nuclear weapon. If a weapon existed that did this crater, humankind would likely cease to exist. So this image is absurd because of mistakes such as these. Why are so many Americans calling for an attack on Iran? We can't afford anything, but let's start another war! Who honestly thinks we could afford another couple hundred billion or few trillion dollars spent on the destruction of another country? What happened to economic conservatives? Isn't that insane? I thought conservatives were calling us to limit spending, not increase it!I also think it's somewhat interesting that some people who are staunch defenders of the unborn as so eager for war. They are pro-life, but only when it comes to innocents. What about all the innocents who die in war? It's not like when America (or anybody) attacks countries that only the bad guys die.You know, I know this is supposed to be a joke. Probably. I sure hope so. I bet I'll be called out on taking this too seriously. Whatever, you can think what you want to. We Americans have our rights to our opinion. However, I think there are times when a person's opinions are just plain wrong. This is one of those times. I think that calling for the deaths of millions is wrong. I think reasonable people would agree with me. If this image is serious I want to be sick. There are sure better ways for dealing with the evils of Iran. This image makes me sad for America and feel sick that there are people who support this murderous notion in it.
I think it is sad that I have to point out what is real and what is posted in jest. I do find it fascinating that you gravitate to the fun forward type posts or the posts that are meant to be humorous. I think it's probably safe to say that you don't appreciate the format of my blog. That's not my problem. You have choices to make as do I. You don't like my blog then don't read it.
