The Hot Topic Of Abortion

Jeff Geering gets all the credit for this photo. I don’t remember where I found it on the net - just that it has had a great impact on my life. I have kept it on my computer since the last presidential election.

I have a lot of admiration for the woman that holds up the sign “My Abortion Hurt Me.” Can you even begin to imagine how hard that must have been for her to hold up a sign that pretty much tells the entire world that she has had an abortion and that she admits to the whole entire world that her abortion hurt her?

What I can’t help but wonder is the “how” she was hurt by her abortion part. I also wonder sometimes how much Love, Compassion, and Patience that we have as Christians towards women that have had abortions OR are contemplating having an abortion?

When you see a photograph like the one in this post, what do you think of? Or what comes to your mind first? How does the photo make you feel? What did this photo make you think of?

  1. I weep for the mom's and the aborted babies as well. The enemy tells the mom lies about how it is just a fetus, or that they cannot do it on their own. Then after the abortion he plagues them with guilt and depression.

The babies had a destiny that could have changed the world. They were stolen from all of us.

Abortion is one of the most tragic injustices I can think of but God's mercy and love can heal even those deep wounds.

  2. I saw an awesome FB post by an attorney friend. Her daughters went to school a few days ago with tape over their mouths (yes it was something we ALL dream about as mothers...wait - I digress). They had the word PRO-LIFE on it. They also bound their wrists. It was a moment of unity to protest abortion. It was a beautiful, beautiful thing. I was so proud of her daughters. I was also proud of her for raising such good, Christian girls.

Abortion is murder. Pulling out LIVING tissue that came into a mother's body by GOD'S design simply cannot be good for a mother.

  3. You are both right about abortion!! Have you heard the latest about how our government views abortion as an illness? Everything they said wouldn't happen with government takeover of health care is happening or is going to happen. I hope you guys voted today. Thank you so much for your comments. I have both of your blogs in my news reader and am reading. #ivoted

  4. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this photograph is that she is the only women there. This debate is known to be run by stuffy male polititons and this picture is a great example of this statement.
