May America Honor God and may God bless America!
On Tuesday, September 11, 2001 I was getting ready to leave the house for Women's Bible Study at Brookside Church. My son who was in 3rd or 4th grade was getting ready to leave for school. I chastised him for leaving the television on so he came to the family room to turn it off and just then we saw the replay of the first plane crashing through one of Twin Towers. He looked at me with an expression of "what just happened Mom and what's going on?" I kissed him on the forehead and even though he hadn't actually asked the question, I told him I wasn't sure what was happening but that everything would be okay. At the time I was sorry that I had called him back to turn off the television but it didn't matter. At school, the students were not shielded from the news so I suppose it was okay he went to school knowing something very wrong just happened in our country.
Sometime after I arrived at church I heard that another plane had crashed through the second tower of the World Trade Center. I was glad to be in the place I was; a place of prayer and worship. Bible study proceeded but not until we gathered and prayed to God for protection and answers. We also prayed for the families of those who had suddenly stepped into eternity.
God has given us the ability to make choices. Unfortunately that day, evil people chose to do unspeakable evil. Some of those evil people are no longer alive and have had to face God for their evil acts. Eventually they all will. Some day each one of us will have to face our Maker.
I am a sinner who is relying on Jesus Christ as my Savior for my forgiveness and salvation. If anyone reading this has not trusted in Jesus Christ, it's a simple but profoundly important step you can take. All you have to do is ask Him into your heart, ask him to forgive you your sins. Tell Him that you believe He paid for your sins by dying on the cross and that he conquered sin when he rose from the grave 3 days later.
No matter what happens in life, He is with me. This is the best place to be; a believer in Christ.
May America honor God and may God bless America!
