Opposition Group Claims Iran Secretly Developing 'Major' Nuclear Enrichment Site - An Iranian resistance group claimed Thursday that it has compiled evidence showing Iran has been secretly developing a nuclear enrichment site for years outside Tehran, a development one official said proves Iran has a "hidden, secret nuclear weapons program." [SNIP] Iranian officials have defended their right to nuclear development but claim their research is for peaceful purposes only.

Duh!? What's the United Nations going to do about it? Anything? They will probably sit and twiddle their thumbs just like they do with everything else. What could possibly be peaceful about Iran’s secret research? Iran is the same country that denies the Holocaust ever happened.

Gov't: Spending to Rise Under Obama's Health Care Overhaul - The nation's health care tab will go up -- not down -- as a result of President Barack Obama's sweeping overhaul. That's the conclusion of a government forecast released Thursday, which also finds the increase will be modest.

Modest!? What’s their definition of Modest!? By the time this transition is complete it will be cheaper for us to be on Cobra. How much more can Barack Obama spend?

Obama Calls Plan to Burn Korans a 'Stunt,' Urges Pastor to Call It Off - A cross-section of American politicians, officials and religious leaders have spoken out in a unified voice against a Florida pastor's plan to burn Korans this weekend to mark nine years since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. President Obama added his condemnation in an interview that aired Thursday, urging the Rev. Terry Jones to "listen to those better angels" and call off the protest. He called the plan a "stunt" and a "recruitment bonanza for Al Qaeda," warning that it could lead to "serious violence" in Pakistan and Afghanistan. [SNIP] "People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation - much like building a mosque at Ground Zero," she wrote. "It will feed the fire of caustic rhetoric and appear as nothing more than mean-spirited religious intolerance. Don't feed that fire."

Obama should now call the plans to build a Mosque and/or Muslim Community center close to Ground Zero a stunt. Just because they have a right to doesn’t mean they should. Where’s the respect for the dead and their surviving family members?

Afghans protest Quran burning plan, torch US flag
- Hundreds of angry Afghans burned a U.S. flag and chanted "Death to the Christians" on Thursday to protest plans by a small American church to torch copies of the Muslim holy book on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. Religious and political leaders across the Muslim world, as well as several U.S. officials, have asked the church to call off the plan, warning it would lead to violence against Americans. Iraq, worried that it will unleash a backlash against all Christians, has beefed up security near churches. [SNIP] "If Quran is burned it would be beginning of destruction of America," read one English-language banner held up by the protesters, who chanted "Down with America!"

Terry Jones and Feisal Abdul Rauf are making terrible choices.
